Three Steps to Create Your Custom Facebook Frames

As part of their Camera Effects platform, Facebook added the Frame Studio tool. This tool makes it easy for you to create a custom image overlay that you can share among your friends or page fans. So, if you haven’t yet considered developing or launching a custom Facebook frame for your business, now’s the perfect time to do it! This tool can help your brand create a unique promotional strategy.

Here are the three basic things you need to know in creating your own Facebook Frame:

  1. Know the terms
    • Before you create and submit a frame, here are some parameters of Facebook Frames that you need to be aware of:
      • No low-resolution elements
      • No effects that block or cover most of the image
      • No portrayal of nonexistent functionality (e.g. “Play” button)
      • No links off Facebook such as scannable codes or QR codes
      • No logos or watermarks
      • No commercial or ad-like content (but not limited to promotions, sweepstakes, banner ads, product placement that includes branding, and sales offers)

Once submitted for approval, Facebook will review your frame if it adheres to the terms and policies. If approved, it will be available in Facebook Camera for public use. Facebook will also track how many times the frame has been used.
