Microsoft buys LinkedIn

LinkedIn is the world’s largest and most valuable professional network as stated in Microsoft’s website. The big names in different industry which are Microsoft and LinkedIn entered into an agreement regarding the fact that Microsoft would acquire $196 per share in all its transaction which is valued at $ 26.2 billion.

Even if Microsoft buys LinkedIn, it still allows LinkedIn to retain their brand, culture and independence. The current CEO of LinkedIn which is Jeff Weiner will remain as is, but he will report to Satya Nadella, the CEO of Microsoft.

Mr. Nadella said "The LinkedIn team has grown a fantastic business centered on connecting the world's professionals. Together we can accelerate the growth of LinkedIn, as well as Microsoft Office 365 and dynamics as we seek to empower every person and organization on the planet."

Mr. Weiner answered to Mr. Nadella’s statement, by saying “Just as we have changed the way the world connects to opportunity, this relationship with Microsoft and the combination of their cloud and LinkedIn's network, now gives us a chance to also change the way the world works."
